Title: Guiding Clinical Development of New Medicine: Insights from Quantitative Systems Pharmacology

Abstract: The field of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. Integrating data from pre-clinical development and clinical datasets, QSP modelers combine empirical pharmacometrics, applied mathematics, and systems/mechanistic modeling approaches to generate translational predictions that facilitate drug development from target selection to dose selection and clinical trial design. In this presentation, I will provide an overview of Model Informed Drug Development (MIDD) approaches and how QSP fits within the broader MIDD framework to guide the discovery and development of new medicines. Several case-studies with QSP model examples will be discussed, including (1) red blood cell regulation model for sickle cell disease program decision, and (2) inflammatory bowel disease model for target combination evaluation.

Date: Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time

Venue: This presenter will be conducting the seminar virtually via Zoom. Join by Zoom or in MSB Room M-434, the LSM Conference Room.
