Dr. Laubenbacher awarded U.S. Army Research Office Grant

Dr. Reinhard Laubenbacher has received a new award from the U.S. Army Research Office to utilize the modular organization of complex biological systems to improve their analysis and control.

Two graphs, the right a simplified version of the left obtained by collapsing modules into single nodes.
An example of modularity in graphs. The left graph A can be simplified into graph B on the right by aggregating modules of nodes into singles nodes representing each of the modules in graph A.

Dr. Laubenbacher is the Director of the Laboratory for Systems Medicine. The project is titled “Modularity of Complex Systems in Biology and Beyond”. Read the project summary on the grant page.
