Title: Dynamic Boolean modeling of psoriasis
Abstract: Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory disease that evolves through complex interactions among keratinocytes and immune cells, leading to uncontrolled inflammation, increased immune activity, and a disrupted keratinocyte life cycle. Despite the availability of several drugs for psoriasis management, the disease remains incurable, leaving many patients suboptimally treated. In this presentation, I will share our work on a Boolean multiscale population model of molecular and signaling interactions in psoriasis. The model integrates discrete logical formalism and stochastic simulations to approximate population dynamics and simulate cell-specific phenotypes. Through simulations and network analysis, the model suggests candidate drug combinations with predicted efficacy comparable to the gold standard in clinical practice.
